Thornberry CODEL Meets With
Japanese Prime Minister

Tokyo, Japan - In the wake of North Korea's third missile test in recent weeks, a bipartisan delegation led by Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other Japanese military and foreign affairs officials to discuss concerns about the security situation in the region.

"Prime Minister Abe was generous with his time, and we appreciated the opportunity to discuss our shared commitment for peace and prosperity in the region," said Chairman Thornberry.

"As tensions and threats grow from North Korea and others,  I am hopeful our visit affirms the strong bipartisan support for our alliance now and in the future," he continued.
